Myanmar military SAC members, their businesses & associates that require targeted sanctions

April 9, 2021

Justice For Myanmar calls on the international community to impose immediate, targeted sanctions against military members of the State Administration Council (SAC), their immediate family members, their businesses and business associates.

The international community must act decisively in response to the Myanmar military’s illegitimate Feb 1 coup, wave of arrests and violence and intimidation of peaceful protestors, in addition to the continuing violations of international human rights and humanitarian laws, including their campaign of genocide against the Rohingya and war crimes and crimes against humanity in ethnic regions.

The Excel file below lists the eight military members of the military regime’s intended 16-member SAC, along with their immediate family members, their businesses and business associates. The list is largely based on the Union Election Commission (UEC) voter list for No. 1 polling station in Anawratha ward of Zeyathiri township, Naypyidaw. All military members of the SAC live in the same ward. In addition, data from the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) is also used.

Justice For Myanmar hopes that this list will support urgent international efforts to respond to the Myanmar military's brutal and illegitimate coup and routine violations of international human rights and humanitarian law, including the crime of genocide against the Rohingya and war crimes and crimes against humanity in ethnic areas.

Given the opaque nature of the Myanmar military and their economic interests, this list is incomplete. If you have additional information or further information, please contact us through our website or social media.
